The Journal of Student Affairs in Africa (JSAA) and International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS)

Call for Papers

Co-editors for the JSAA IASAS special edition invite submissions on the following topic:

Topic/theme: Collection of global themes and issues: Voices from across the globe

JSAA, an independent, peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary, open-access academic journal focussed on contributing to the professionalization of student affairs in African higher education is collaborating with IASAS to publish a special edition in May 2017.  IASAS seeks to promote professionalism and connect Student Affairs and Services professionals across various regions of the world in order to improve frameworks, theoretical and pragmatic approaches to Student Affairs in Higher Education.

In this guest edited special issue 5(1) of the JSAA, IASAS guest editors seek to create a space for authors from around the world to submit well researched articles on student services and student affairs programs in tertiary education in different regions of the world, with emphasis on issues and challenges within the author’s own country. Additionally, the author will expand on models, frameworks, and theories of student affairs governance structure and provide context for their country and region as well as any insight they may have to help solve any issues or challenges. Issues and challenges will range depending on country and region, some examples include (but not limited to) access, funding, mental health, mobility, and internationalization. Please follow the following link for author writing guidelines for submissions:http://www.jsaa.ac.za/index.php/JSAA/about/submissions

If you plan to submit an article, please notify the co-editors (email Kathleen.callahan@cnu.edu and chinedumba958@gmail.com) by sending a preliminary abstract or topic outline by July 31, 2016. Final submissions will be due October 2016. Editors will be in touch with final schedule of drafts to ensure timely submissions.
